Reesie Update

Painter Pack Mom here....

I wanted to make sure everyone knew that our Reesie Cup is doing GREAT! She has gained her weight back, and then some. She's running and playing just like a pup should! She's 5 months old now, and last week I didn't think she would live to see it.

I want to thank everyone in blogland and all those on Facebook who pulled together and help raise just over $1000 for Reesie's vet bill. Without all of you, she would not be here.

Also, a special thank you to River's mom, Stephanie! She drove out of her way to help us take Reesie to the vet. Without her, Reesie would not be alive either.

So, a huge thank you to a community that pulled together with lots of love and saved my baby girl!

I am honored and humbled. I am thankful.

Prayers needed

Please pray for our little Reesie Cup. She has parvo.

We took her to the vet, but they wanted $500 up front with a total cost of over $900 for 4 days of treatment. We simply do not have it. I am crushed and heartbroken that they would not work with us on this or let us make payments. I've checked around and that is pretty standard for the "business" of being a Vet.

All that aside, we are looking into some other alternative methods of treating her, but realistically, it doesn't look good. If she starts to suffer, we will let her go peacefully. But it is ripping my heart out.

Please just pray for her...I know that God has His reasons and plans. I do not question Him at all. But it doesn't make it any easier for us or for our poor little girl.

Goodbye to 2011!!!

Happy new Year!!

2011 was a year full of ups and downs! But today I want to focus on the ups!

The Painter Pack grew in 2011! Here's a recap of our new family members!

In March, we agreed to foster Bella through MUSH Rescue in Alpharetta, Georgia.

Within 2 weeks, she had wowed us with those husky skills and we decided to become her forever home!

A couple months later, I decided to get a kitty sister for Sophia Belle. I had no trouble finding a sweet girl! So at 6 weeks of age, Salem Marie came home! It took Sophia and Mya a few days but they eventually fell for the beauty. Salem has become my little adventurer! Sophia is much more calm, but Salem gets into everything...usually while Sophie watches, but disavows any knowledge of wrongdoing.

I thought our family was complete. But in August, a routine trip to the grocery store changed our family dynamic yet again! In the parking lot we found a young pup running free. Of course we brought her home. She was wearing a collar but try as we could, we never found her previous owners. We named her Bailey and decided we could not let her down. She's such a sweetheart and gets along with everyone!

Just a few weeks later, again while on a trip to the grocery store, I ran into a man giving away puppies from the back of his truck. They were about 5 weeks old, full of fleas and parasites. I would have taken them all, but I couldn't. I took one little chocolate lab girl, which had always been a dream to have, and Reesie Cup has been such a good girl! It took about 6 weeks for me to get her parasite free, but now she is fat and healthy!

The rest of the year has been difficult for me. I've had a lot of back and other health problems, but you know what? I am still blessed! Nothing will steal my joy at the life God has given me. It gets overwhelming sometimes with so many doggies, especially now that my son is working full time. But they are so worth it. I love each and every one so much. They are like my babies. My children.

So, I say goodbye to 2011. And if I am around for another year, I will take everything that life throws...good and bad. I have faith and know that my Heavenly Father is there for me. Nothing happens unless it passes through His hands. I may not understand His reasons, but who am I to question the love He has for me.

To all my wonderful friends in DWB land, I thank you. You have listened to and prayed for me so many times (thanks to Facebook). This world of doggies AND kitties has shown me that a true family doesn't necessarily share blood, but they share heart. And as far as I'm concerned, you are all my family. I wish you all nothing but happiness and health in the new year. To those dealing with illness, either human or pet, I pray for peace in your heart and life. We never know what lies ahead, but part of the joy in life is that journey.

I look forward to sharing that journey with all of you in 2012.

Tragedy in the DWB world

Most of you know the devastating news from Houston Pittie Pack. A horrible fire has destroyed their home, all their belongings, and most tragically, their pack members. Five of Sandra's fur-kids were lost. Thankfully, two did survive. But Sandra is in need of emotional and financial support right now.

This DWB community has a huge heart. Dozens have stepped up with offers of help. No hesitation. Thank God for these friends.

So close to Christmas and full of sorrow. Please, pray for the family and help out financially if you can. Here is the Chip-in for Sandra and her family.

Our thoughts are with you and we are praying for healing in your heart.

Four Months old!

Here is our big girl! She's 4 months old now and fat as a piggy! Reesie has been sleeping with me (mommy) for the last few nights and is a total heating pad. She also gets along with the cats really well, but does tend to irritate Salem into a few hisses!

**Note from the Pack Mom: I am sorry for so few updates. The past couple of months have been very difficult, regarding my health. Lots of back pain and now some possible blood pressure/possible stroke problems. However, I am still so blessed.
I've not been commenting as much as I would like and I am so sorry for that.
I hope to post more in the coming year!

Three Months Old

Hard to believe our baby is 3 months old now. She started life full of fleas and worms, with a bad skin infection due to the fleas. She had to be buzzed down her back so that the sores could heal properly. Now, her fur is back and Reesie Cup is nothing but a ball of energy and kisses! She is the only pup that gets along with everyone of her brothers and sisters, dog and cat!

Mya is still very protective of her new pup and takes the role of Doggie-mama very seriously! They are always together, playing and having fun.

Izzy Bella here on a beautiful Fall day! The temps are chilly but the sun is still shinning!

I enjoy going outside and watching the squirrels play on the trees. Plus, I get to watch the kids across the street playing.

I am heartbroken.

Although I did not know her as well as some, she was always kind and helpful to me. She was a member of DWB long before I arrived, but was never too busy to chat or remark on a post.

When things like this happen, the death of such a great person, I can't help but be thankful to God... Thankful and blessed that this woman, Claudette, was a part of my life; if only in a small way.

My faith and trust in God is strengthened because I know Claudette was formed by His holy hands, and her wonderful heart given life by His breath.

She was a gift to us all, placed in this world to touch the lives and hearts of so many. To be a friend and advocate to the DWB community and a woman of courage and strength.

Death is inevitable but it is never without pain and suffering for those left behind. As a Christian, my prayers go out to the family who must now continue without Claudette. Also, to the friends who knew her and loved her as a sister.

A Growing Pack! Part 2: MBB's a new mom!

Hello again! Mom here with another new addition to our Pack!

MBB: I have a new baby!!

Once again, I went to the grocery store...same one where we found Bailey...only this time on a Saturday morning when the flea market was open. There are always people in the parking lot selling and giving away puppies. I try not to look. Mind you, I said "try"....

When I saw these puppies, I not only stopped, but I held one. That was it....the man was giving away chocolate labs...and yes, I took one.

So, without further delay, please welcome Reesie Cup to our family!

The man said she was 6 weeks, but I'd say no more than 5...maybe even 4. She couldn't eat hard food, only soft. She was covered in fleas and has sensitive skin. You'll notice in some of the more recent photos, her hair has been shaved from her back. This is so the medicated shampoo can get to the skin better.

MBB: I will teach woo how to be a husky!

Soon as I brought her home, MBB took over. Mya has great mothering skills and she has adopted Reesie as her pup. She watches after her, carries her around by the scruff, and is very protective.

Here is our little girl, shortly after I brought her home.

We estimate that she is 8 weeks old now. Eats like a little piglet, plays and runs through the house with Bailey and her Doggie-mama (MBB). Her skin is getting better, but the vet said it will just take time. That's fine...as long as she is healthy!

Reesie and Bailey play really great. But Mya is never far away. Our cat Salem (black) is fascinated with the new puppy and usually sits on the back of the love seat and just supervises.

To say that our home is full is such an understatement! Eight dogs and two cats. And I couldn't be happier! We need to invest in additional crates, plus the two new girls need to be spayed. Right now, since I just went back to work, money is tight. But happiness doesn't come with a price tag. So, we'll make do and take all the slobbery kisses and furry hugs we can get!!

A Growing Pack! Part 1

Hello fur-iends! Painter Pack mom here! Please forgive us for being away so long! I can't believe the Summer is over and Fall is here! We are excited about the cooler temps! Plus, we have had some big surprises in our house!

Please meet Bailey! She is our grocery store dog. About 4 weeks ago, my son and I were in our local grocery for ice cream (yummy!) and saw this girl running around, free. She had on a collar, but the area was a danger to her, so we brought her home. We immediately put ads up on Craigslist and in the paper. Also, I called the grocery store and the animal shelter, and local vets, to let them know in case the family came looking.

Sadly, no one responded. Which, to me, means that this poor girl was dumped. At first, we were going to try and find her a new home.

We figure, about 3-4 months old because she still had her baby teeth.

She and MBB got along great! They all got along with her. Even CoCo!

Here she is, right after we brought her home. Scared, but sweet as she can be.

My son and I made the decision to keep her....and named her Bailey.

Here is the chunky girl today. Bailey is just a love-bug. House trained, but loves to run with T-Bone in the back yard. She knows her name, knows how to play fetch, and when she's sleeping next to you, she's like an electric blanket!

She is a LOT like our Maxie Doodle, that we lost almost 2 years ago. So, we consider her our little girl, sent by Angel Doodle.

Anyway, say hello to our new girl!

Woos! Bella here from the Painter Pack. I has been in the family for 5 whole months now. Time for me to share in blogging duties!

Mommy took some pictures of me and my latest stuffie. So far, it's survived for 3 days! I has not de-stuffed it yet! Woos!

Although Mommy kept my shelter name "Bella", she has added the "Izzy" part! I am officially Izzy Bella!

After blowing my pretty red coat, I am now more of a brown/chocolate color. Mommy says I am beautiful!

As woo can see, I have finally gained some weight. I'm not the skinny shelter girl anymore!

Meows! Sophia Bell reporting for the Painter Pack on this Feline Friday!

Things with my new kitty sister, Salem Marie, are going good. She is slowly learning her place, which is beneath my throne! Of course, I am the Queen and I am only letting her share my space.

The squirt is around 3 months old now, so she's useful enough for me to use as a workout partner. We do our Kitty Ninja exercises daily.

Salem Marie has become a good plaything for MBB. Salem runs...MBB chases. No one has been caught, but it should be interesting. I enjoy watching their folly!

Of course, I must include a new picture of me. My faithful fans deserve this! I am still beautiful!!

Woofs and Woos! MBB here with some funny thoughts!

Ever wonder what your furry furiend would drive, if given the chance? Well, around here, it was a full conversation...woo know Mommy doesn't really have a life.

So, here are the cars that go with our distinct personalities!!

This green VW bug is perfect for CoCo. She would be stylish in (puke green) a convertible with her fur blowing in the wind. Maybe she would blow away...like the wicked witch...oh, sorry.

Next on the list is Bella. She's a prissy girl, so a PINK convertible would definitely suit her! I think she would have a nice scarf around her head so as not to mess up her hair.

I, of course, need a little more power to my ride! Mommy says I'm a redneck husky! True, I am a tomboy sometimes...and I can beat up anyone in the house....so, I think this truck will work very well. I could also mow down CoCo and her little green skittle!

Now, for the boys!

The choice was easy for T-Bone. He's a rebel! I can imagine him riding along, sun glasses, helmet, and his tongue hanging out the side of his mouth...oh, and leather jacket too! Yep, he'd turn some heads! And he's all about speed!

Don't laugh. This one is for Jack. I don't think I need to explain further. Woof! Plus, he can stop and nap at will.....

Now, this is totally Jedi! He's athletic and loves the outdoors. He would be riding through the mud or high grass, loving the wind in his fur while blasting some AC/DC or vintage VanHalen!

As hard as I try, I cannot forget the kitties in the house.

I'm pretty sure, Sophia Belle would have the Limo. She's pampered, spoiled and utterly entitled!    So, yes....She is destined to be a Queen, at least in her own mind. I see her sipping some bubbly and then taking a nap.

Finally, last and actually the least....is Salem! Now, she's still a baby, but with her feisty nature, daring charm, and beauty, this is definitely for her. At least until she grows up...then she may get something with more power!

So, there you have it. A completely useless blog filled with craziness and a bit of imagination.

Here's hoping everyone has a Happy 4th of July!

We are proud to introduce, Salem! She is 6 weeks old.

After much research, I decided that Sophia Belle needed a kitty sister.

I didn't realize that at 6 weeks old, she would be so small! I'm wondering if she might actually be younger?

Salem is still very unsure of her new home, but as I type, she is curled up on my shoulder. She's very sweet.

The kicker is, Sophia Bell doesn't like Salem! She hisses at her! She won't really get close to Salem and gives her the stink eye constantly.

I'm told by trusted cat friends that this will pass. I sure hope it passes soon!

Sunday Announcement!

She and Mya are a work in progress. But I have hope. Regardless, Bella is loved...she is safe and warm...and will not have to worry about living on the streets or in a home that does not truly love her.

Three years ago today, Mya Boo Boo gave birth to 7 beautiful and healthy puppies! Jedi was the first one born. Yours was a difficult journey but you found your way home to us!

Meet Miss Bella!

Here she is! This is Bella, our foster girl! She arrived on Sunday from a high kill shelter in Georgia. She was just hours away from being killed. Thanks to MUSH rescue, Bella now has a second chance at a wonderful life!

I have been told that Bella is 4 years old. However, I swear she doesn't look that old. She is very thin and cautious. But you can tell she's got a ton of love left to give.

Bella reminds us a lot of Koova. Of course, the coloring. But my son says she stares at him the same way that Koova did. And for whatever reason, she has latched onto my son. They have been almost inseparable. The couple from MUSH that brought Bella to us said that she was initially afraid of the male. He was surprised that she didn't seem to mind my son.

In the next day or so, Bella will get a proper bath and a visit to the Vet. She seems totally healthy, but we'll be getting her shots and testing for HW. Praying that the HW is negative! She's been on the streets for a long while, so who knows.

All I know right now is that she is safe with us, loved, and asleep in my son's bed!

The not so good news is that MBB does not seem to care for her. But....we're taking it slow. So, maybe Mya will warm up to her...On the other hand, Jedi is in love! Hahahaha! Tbone is overly excited (as usual) and Jack just doesn't care! We're saving CoCo for another time.......

Oh, and I find it funny that her name is Bella and my son's middle name is Edward. I told him that Bella has found her Edward! He is not too much into Twilight. But it was still funny.

Feline Friday!

Mommy almost forgot about my day! Feline Friday! I mean, sheesh...in a house full of dogs, I get one day to myself.

I have been spending my day just relaxing on Mommy's bed. MBB is always around, but she doesn't bother me. Usually.

There is an open window that I like to look out. The outside smells so good! But Mommy says kitties like me shouldn't be outside. There are too many things that might hurt me!

So, here I lay!

But don't think I'm strictly a lazy cat! Oh no! I get my share of fun in during the day! And the nights! I love to sneak out of the room at night and just check things out. Sometimes I like to sleep on the back of the couch.

Excuse me, flashy beast. Could you take it down just a notch??

Yes, I do occasionally wander around the bed. Just to irritate MBB of course.

Surprise Sunday

Sadly, dis is pretty much all that is left....Oh, haroo roo roo to my furiends! MBB here with a big pupdate!

We received a fantastic box filled with all kinds of goodies from Addie!! Thank woo, Addie, for being so generous! Of course, I knew they were ALL for me, but I did share. Some, anyway.

To the right, is my favorite! Mommy said I grabbed it out of the box before she could stop me! Harooo! That's what a husky does!

Here I am with a squeeky steak. I killed it, too.

I took this toy away from TBone cause he was afraid of it. Big coward! Haroooo!

Here are some photos of the initial snoopervision of said package. I had to make sure it wasn't some kind of anti-husky-squirrel domination device.

I allowed Jack to help me in the sniffing because he has a lot more years of experience.

He didn't seemed concerned at all about the possibility of squirrels having sent the package. And Jack is a squirrel expert!

Hello blogging pals. I am Sophia Belle! Mommy has decided that every Friday will be MY day to post! I am excited! Since I am new to this whole thing, I guess I will start off with some pictures.

Here I am! This is me, climbing down from my perch. Being a kitty, I like stuff high up so I can keep my eyes on those other rascally four-leggers! Believe it or not, I do not mind them. Sometimes they want to play too rough and I have to bring out the claw. Especially MBB, who shares the room with me and Mommy. Most of the time, anyway.

Here I am, hiding behind Mommy's curtains. Well, before I tore them down. It was an accident! I swear!

Right now, this is my favorite spot to just sit and think! Or, perhaps lay and sleep! It's purrrfect!

Mommy has two small windows that she keeps open for me. They have screens in them, so I can't escape. Not that I would...probably.

There is another big window, but it doesn't have a screen in it, so Mommy only cracks it open. MBB likes to stick her snooter out and sniff. Dogs....hmmmmp.....

We have been in this house for 4 months! I am happy here. I do miss my kitty brother, Riley. He wasn't allowed to come with us. Mommy said she is going to get him back one day, so I hope to see him again.

At first, I was too scared to leave Mommy's bedroom. But now, I prowl in the night! I try to find things to chase in the living room!!! I've even made my way to the kitchen once or twice!

There you have it. Me! Mommy has some videos of me too, but she will save those for next time, maybe. I'm always so cute, she keeps the flashie beast taking pictures of me! After all, I am a purrrfect model!

Hello every furrie!! I finally got Mommy to help me with a post! She's not feeling good lately and it's mighty hard to get her moving. The human vet said she has something bulging in her back. I looked and I don't see nufin! I'm sure if she had some ice cream, it would all be fine!

Anyway, back to me!!!

This is how I was spending my day! Relaxing and dreaming of ice cream and snow.

Then, Mommy started with the flashy beast. End sleep.

I took it for as long as I could. Then I had to speak my mind!

First came the "look" of disapproval. "Mommy, I'm trying to sleep here..."

I tried to reason wif her. "Can't woo wait until after my nap?"

"What do woo mean, I am always napping? That is so unfair!"

Here I am, giving her the last chance to make da madness stop!

Valentine Tribute to Love

Love is in the air! Jack and CoCo have always had a special relationship. As a little puppy, CoCo melted Jack's rough and rogue heart! They are always together and she has Jack wrapped around her paw! Happy Valentine's Day!

Also in love, Mya and Koova. It was because of their love for each other that a dog blog was started. When Mya was a little pup, she stole Koova's heart. Even though Koova is no longer with us, their love lives on in Mya's heart, and in the children they shared, including Jedi.

Below is a tribute of that love from Mya to Koova. Somewhere, I know he is smiling.

Time to wake up sleepy heads! Mommy has a new flashie beast!!!

Woo cannot run, evil witch..I mean CoCo! Mommy will catch woo with da zoom!

Here I am, Mya Boo Boo (aka MBB)! I am strolling in my yard!

When I go outside, it is just me and Jedi. We spend some dog-mommy and son time together.

I know what woo is thinking...runway model??

Here is our ol' man, Jack, (aka MOOSE). He loves roaming around on his runner. Mama got him a 40 footer! When he's done roaming, he comes in and takes his ol' man nap!

Here is CoCo Bean and part of T-bone. Of course, I cannot be let out with CoCo because she is a demon dog and will kill me!

Look at her, trying to whisper stuff to my doggie-son! Hmmmmmp!

Her is Mr. T-Bone! He is 10 months old now and growing still! Mama says he eats like a horse. I've never met a horse, but I've seen 'em on TV. I hope he don't get that big!

And last and actually the least (smallest) of our pack, Sophia Belle. She is sporting her new cat tag that mama bought. We all got new ones, but Mommy hasn't gotten around to all of us yet.

Well furiends, that is all for this day...but Mommy will surely keep flashing pictures of us and posting 'em on Facebook. Yikes.

Good Tuesday world! Mya Boo Boo here with a snow report!

These killer blues are a dead giveaway!! It's my first born son, Jedi! He was truly enjoying the snow!

Now, here is the tricky part! Who is this handsome boy?

Although it looks like Jedi, it is actually Juneau, one of my other sons! His hooman mommy sent my mommy some snowy pictures! Doesn't he look just like Jedi! I believe they are twins!! But Jedi was born first, and this fella next to last. Still....they look an awful lot like their daddy, Koova. Handsome and strong.

I'm sure this week will be filled with snow pictures. The hooman weather machine said more snow tonight! It is so strange! We got 10.5 inches of snow! Mommy said that's the most snow we've gotten since the blizzard of 1993. Of course, I wasn't around then, but a blizzard sounds like fun!! Arooooooooo!!!!!!!!

Happy Snowy Monday to all my furiends in Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia! MBB here!

Can woo believe it!! Mommy said we gots about 6-8 inches of real snow! So naturally, she got out the flashy beast. I am exploring the snow, so I don't care! Flash away!

I must tell the beewootiful MFT herself, Khyra, that I am so sorry for getting all your snow! I know it is your snow because we never get stuffs like this! So, I was thinking. All my furrie friends have got pretty big snows....except woo! The snow fairy must be directionally dis-functionals! Or she couldn't see through the snow! Anyway, I can box some up and send to woo...

Me? I'm fine with it for tonight. Mommy is excited to be out on our own for this holiday. I've seen stockings hung up but Mommy said nothing is in them yet. I don't think she trusts us!

It is hard to believe that my little Doodle has been gone one year. His death left us empty and heartbroken. I know for his entire 5 years of life, he was loved. He did not go hungry or lack for kisses and snuggles. Doodle loved to just lay in bed with me, snuggling up close. During my 8 months on disability due to my back, he was there. Always.

My sweet boy you are missed and still loved. Your photo hangs on the wall because you will always be part of our family. Your litter mate, CoCo, is doing good but I know she still misses you.

I know you are running free with Koova and finding all sorts of trouble! Someday we will all be together again. Until then, I love you.

Hello furiends!! CoCo Bean here with an update and photos!

Wow...it's furry hard to believe we been in da new house a month! We are all so happy! Mommy took some photos of our new "play" area. Right now, me and little T-Bone are the only ones allowed to run free...because we all know certain breeds like to jump over and dig under fences! So, Mommy keeps those doggies on a runner when they are outside. She didn't want to risk losing a baby. I say, let MBB free! Heheh!

Ok. This is our back yard. It is really big and fenced in for safety.

Haroooo's to all the pups and cats! MBB here with an update on our move!

Here I am lounging on my new floor. It's furry comfy and nice. Of course, I prefer to be left alone until I'm ready to summon someone. Generally for food or outside time. But, since Mommy is so excited about being in our new place, I'm tolerating it. Besides, how can I deny the world more pictures of me! Mommy still can't find her camera, so these are from her cellphone.

Here is the old man...Jack. He lays around a lot now. I don't think he liked being outside at the other place. I know he is happy to be back in his comfort!
That is human brother's big foot. He's playing one of his online X-box game thingys. Supposedly, he talks to other humans like him and they all play these games on the TV...I don't see the excitement of it.

Mommy couldn't get any pics of T-Bone. He runs from everything. Big ol' baby! But he's good to wrestle with!

Mommy says we still have a U-Haul full of furniture and stuff coming this weekend, then it's all over. I'll just be glad when she gets her bed set up...

I sure hope everyone is doing good. Looking forward to snow!! Probably not for a couple months, but a girl can dream.

Woos!!! MBB here! Finally! Good gosh...I haven't blogged in soooo long! Plweese forgive me!

One reason for my absence is our old computer just didn't want to work any more. Ever since I spilled soda on the Dell, we've not had good luck with used computers. So, Mommy bought a new one! It's a HP...we've never had one of these before, but Mommy said QVC had a deal she couldn't pass up!

Mommy and I like to watch the shopping channels!

Down below is a recent picture of my newest brother, T-Bone. He's our Border Collie brother. He is super sweet and doesn't get on my nerves...much. And he likes to play! So when we move into another house, we'll be running zoomies! Haroooooooo!!!

You can't see, but he has hazel eyes! Furry handsome fella!

Yes, woo is seeing correctly. We have been adopted...by a goat. She actually has a serious crush on Jedi, and stays with him outside all the time. She has even warmed up to Jack! Now, I see her when I go outside to take care of business. And I've sorta sniffed her. I can tell woo, she smells funny. Not like any critter I've ever sniffed! Mommy wants to take her with us since her owners don't want her. Plus, she is sorta in love with Jedi. I don't know if these types of relationships can work, but to each his own!

Oh, and we also have ANOTHER new family member! Yes, Mommy is insane.

We'll tell woo all about Riley's new Kitty sister, Sophie (aka Little Girl) next time!!

It seems that evil happens every day to our beloved pets. The tragic story of Bear Bear was so awful that it brought a community together to seek justice. Sadly, stories like this are all too common.

The photos below are of Muppet, my cousin Jennifer's dog. On August 16th, Jennifer opened the door and found this...Muppet with an arrow through his body.

Now remember, Muppet is a tiny little dog and was in his yard. Why would someone do this? They know who did it, but there is no proof. A 20 year old punk from down the road who has been known to practice with his bow and arrow. Of course, the fact that his mother agreed to pay the vet bill, without any admission of guilt doesn't mean anything. Thankfully, this little guy is going to make a full recovery.

There is Muppet and Bear Bear...also, a beautiful Husky boy named Kobe that was tied to railroad tracks and died a horrible death, and a pitty dog that had his nose hacked off. These are all just recent stories, but they are not the only ones. There are hundreds and probably thousands of dogs and cats out there who are tortured and abused each day; killed for pleasure.

I do not understand this world today. Women who smother and kill their children...people who go to their work place and shoot coworkers...and people who kill helpless animals.

Stupidity, yes. Evil--you betcha. Now, I know that there are readers of many different faiths and beliefs on the dog blogs. We are brought together by our love for the animals in our lives. We share stories and heartaches. And whether we are simply crossing paws or down on our knees in prayer, we are there for each other. I am so thankful for each and every one of you.

This is a place of encouragement and laughter, heartache and understanding. Whether in the same town or across the world, it takes only the typing of a blog to bring us all together in one place. I wish there was some way to hug each and every one of you, to stroke the furry heads of your best friends and children...

I was so angry today at reading the horrors being committed...and yet now, that I have "talked" it over with my dear DWB friends, I feel a comfort. An ease that there is understanding at my anger. How amazing is that!

You all are the best people in the world. I am blessed and thankful to be part of this community. And I urge each blogger to never take for granted the pawsomeness of our DWB friends! Take the time to comment and let the humans know that it all matters...that WE as a community matter!

Thanks for taking the time to listen. I will be down on my knees in prayer for each of you, your pets, families, and to the ones that we have lost.

Riley the cat's first blog post!

Do not adjust your computer screens or glasses. Yes, I am a cat.

Hello blog world! I am Riley "Kitty Boy" Painter, also known as Puddy Cat, Blue Eyes, Lover boy and some other names that I do not think I should say.

I am the first cat in my family of humans and dogs. I was actually adopted when my original owner (my mom's brother) couldn't take care of me any more. Mom wasn't sure about having a cat. But she said I looked like a Siberian Cat with my coloring and blue eyes....I can see the family resemblence.

Most of my dog brothers and sisters are nice to me. Mya and CoCo really love me...most of the time. And the new brother, T-Bone likes to play bitey-face...except that I do not like to play this game. So, I play another game called "THE CLAW" and I guess he doesn't like it cause he screams and runs! It serves a purpose.

Mom isn't too sure if Jack and Jedi will take kindly to me. They are outside now, but when we move into a new house, we'll all be inside, like me. I'm sure "THE CLAW" will get a lot of game play then!

There is a good chance that I might have a kitty sister. Mom found a little kitten a few weeks ago and named her Sophia Belle. We call her Sophie. But mom can't bring her inside cause of other around here (humans)...so she stays outside on the deck. Sophie is very small, black and white. She seems to love us very much, so I'm hoping we can keep her. Might need some extra CLAW in this family!
Well, enough about me. I hope to blog again sometime. Mom says when we get moved, we might each have our own day of the week to blog! That would be fun!

Remembering our Koova Bleu

It has been one year since we lost our beloved Koova. He was only 3 years old and his passing was a complete shock. Koova was our first Husky and my son's best friend from the very beginning.

Koova was big, strong, silent, and loyal. He was what my son called a true "Lead Dog". He was smart and powerful.

Koova at 5 months.

The one true love of Koova's life was Mya Boo Boo. People often laugh, because they were non-humans. But those who saw the two of them together would see. Koova and Mya were soulmates. He loved her the moment we brought her home as a wild little puppy.

I had not planned on them having puppies, but they were sneaky and went behind my back. They were the proud parents of 7 beautiful and healthy pups.

I am thankful that we have Jedi, their first born son. Initially adopted out, but the family decided they didn't want him anymore and we paid to get him back. Of course, no knowing that is all of Koova that we would have left one day.

We are so thankful for the life, although brief, of our boy. He introduced us to the wonderful Siberian breed and gave us a lifetime of priceless memories in 3 short years.

To Koova, we love you. We miss you. Hardly a day passes that we do not think of you. I hope you and Doodle are finally playing and being nice to each other.

Walmart has it all!

Hello world! Mya Boo Boo here!

The little fur ball that is my new brother is almost 5 months old now...but mommy dug out some baby photos!

I guess some of woo might be interested in how T-Bone came to be a "Painter"!

So, here is his gotcha story.

He came from Walmart.

That's it! Mommy went to Walmart and came back with the usual stuff...hooman kibble, dog kibble, hooman stuff and HIM!

Now, I don't know about woo, but I just didn't buy it. The story I mean. So I had to do a little more snooping...er...investigating!

Turns out, mommy was leaving Walmart and met a lady in the parking lot who was giving away puppers! **Yeah, mommy pulls 'em in like flies to a light** Anyway, leave it to mommy to find him. He was the last one left and mommy said she fell in love instantly.

So, that's how we got T-Bone Maxwell Bleu Painter...sounds like a movie star's name. Trust me, he's no movie star! He still wets himself if he gets excited! Hmmmp!

The name T-Bone is from a doggie that hooman brother had when he was about 6 years old. Someone stole that T-Bone and it broke hooman brother's heart.

Maxwell is for Maxie Doodle who passed away in November of 2009. Bleu is for Koova Bleu who passed almost one year ago on August 9th.

These are our beloved brothers who will never be forgotten.

So the next time your hoomans say they are going to Walmart for kibble...just expect the unexpected! There may be a little mouth attached to that kibble!

Yes, he is a cute pupper. Good thing he take orders easily! Especially from me!

We have returned! With a surprise!

Woos!!! Mya Boo Boo here! Man, talk about a long break! It has been several months since my mommy has had the internet, so we've got a lot of catching up to do!

I have missed all my furiends! I hope every furrieone is doing wonderful!! We are still living with my granny, but the good news is that we will be moving in September! Granny has a job and now mommy can move without having to worry!

All us furries are doing good. Jedi had sort of a bad scare with his health, but he is now doing great and almost back to normal! That's my boy!

Also, we do have sort of a big announcement. For those on FaceBook, woo have already heard! So now, it's time to announce it here!

Do you see this pupper? This is our new brother! TBone Maxwell Bleu Painter! He is a Border Collie! Doesn't he look like a handsome boy! He thinks I'm his mama sometimes. He likes to bark a lot and mommy will put him in MY crate with me. Let me tell you, I know how to discipline! Haroooooo!!!

We have tons more pictures of the little guy, but mommy has not put them on this new 'puter.

So, for now, that's all the exciting news. I'm sure TBone will want to blog some, but right now he's too young. His spelling isn't furry good!!

Power of the paw!

Woofs to woo all! MBB here on behalf of our Painter family!

We is all fine. Do not worry. But mommy wanted me to blog about an urgent need. Mommy says we have got to move by the end of April--or she will go completely insane. I guess that is a hooman side effect of being woke up by yelling at 3:30am...and through out the day. We is not used to all this yelling stuff.

Plus, she said that Jack and Jedi have spent more than enough time in the elements and she's not allowed to bring them inside. Just me and the CoCo Bean...and they yelled about that. A lot of yelling in dis house! Plus, hooman brofur is miserable here.

So, please pray, meditate, and use the power of the paw for us! Mommy doesn't care if the place has bugs as long as they are not bigger than Riley Kat! Seriously, mom? Bugs? I don't think I would like that furry much. How about we try for NO bugs first, ok?

Anyways, thanks to woo all. Mommy said the DWB folks is the closest furiends she's got and she knows they will help!

Both answers sort of go together! This beewootiful girl is my daughter, Kiree! Doesn't she wook like me!! But her fur is longer. She lives with her hooman family and other furrie four legged siblings in Chattanooga.

And this weekend is the second birthday for my puppies! So, I thought I would post of recent photos of the babies I see most!

This is Bandit. He is such a spoiled little booger! And he has longer hair too! So handsome!

Of course, there will be photos of Jedi! He is going to the groomers Saturday because he's all muddy and junk from being outside!! And then, Sunday is the BIG day! Mommy plans on some treats and pressies! Of course, I should get some pressies too! After all, I gave birth to 7 puppies!!! And Jedi was born in a closet! Hmmmp!

Haroo to all of woo!! MBB here! It has been a beewootiful weekend here in NW Georgia! Mommy and human brother have been moving stuff into storage so it's left me with plenty of nap time!

I wanted to share some photos with woo all. This is my son, Bandit! He lives with a wonderful family in Chattanooga. His human mommy and daddy love him bunches and spoil him all the time! Isn't he handsome! I think he looks a lot like his father, Koova, in the face. Not the coloring. Just the shape. But he is insanely handsome! And he's single girls!

And although this one is somewhat of an embarrasment to me as a Siberian Husky, I thought it was humorous! Woo can see Riley Kat laying with mama...but whose got all that fur? Haroooos!!! That would be me! I have my furry husky tail wrapped around the cat. I was actually making sure he didn't get away so that I could swat him when he wasn't looking. I mean, he is a C A T!!!!

A Birthday

Hello all furries.

Today is a sad day for me and my family. This is Koova's birthday. My sweetheart would have been 4 years old.

I miss him so furry much. And I know that mommy does too. Koova was the fur that held us together for a long time. Even though he is no longer with us, his presence remains.

So, happy birthday to sweet Koova. I hope woo is having a big party at the Bridge! Eat a piece for me! I love woo now and forever.

For some reason, Riley likes to sneak into my crate and sleep.
The door of the crate is missing a couple of tiny bars...and this allows the cat to slither right in! Can we get some super glue and fix this? Mom says, duct tape!

Painter pack mom here.

I wanted to let everyone know that the Pack and I will be taking a break from blogging and reading blogs. Not that we have been doing much of either lately. It's not because we don't want to!

Some of you know that my current living situation has not been ideal...I'd call it a literal Hell...but that is beside the point.

We have decided to move...again. This move will take place as soon as we can locate a pet friendly house/apartment. Probably in February. Until then, all our energy will be focused on packing and such.

I would like to ask all my fur friends to please keep up in your prayers and thoughts. This has been a VERY difficult 6 months and each day it gets harder. It is to the point that I must flee for my own sanity and that of my son and pets.

I will continue to be on FaceBook as time allows. So if anyone is ill or in need, please keep me informed.

I thank God for what I have and I consider you all dear friends. There is little that I wouldn't do for each and every one of you.

This is a story I heard about via Facebook. It just breaks my heart. If you want to read more, check out my FB page and click on the link. You can also donate.

Also, this shows the great work some of our own DWB members do, who use their own time, vehicles, and money to transport dogs to their forever homes. These ladies are so selfless and kind. No one can know the value of their generosity unless you have personally experienced the love of a shelter dog. Or looked into the eyes of a dog who, without helpers like this, might not have ever met their new families. I just want to say thank you! And we all know who you are!!! God bless you for the work you do and the love you have for man's (and woman's) best friend.

Update 1/7/10:

We wanted to let everyone know that Chris and Meghan have officially named the Momma and her 4 remaining puppies. We have named the momma Salvation, or Sally for short. The puppies are Joy, Serenity, Hope, and Faith. We thought the names were fitting, and wanted them to have a great start to a great new life.

Update 1/6/10:

We sadly got word today that the momma lost one more of her puppies. The small white pup all the way to the left in the pictures is the one that did not make it. The four remaining puppies seem to be doing well, but the fifth never really thrived, due to their hard beginning.

We also have a transport in place to pick these guys up on Saturday. With any luck, they should be warm and safe and with their new foster by Sunday night.

We are still accepting donations in the form of money or supplies. If you have old towels, dog beds, blankets, canned puppy food, bags of dry puppy food, milk replacer, newspaper, or anything else you think would help this family, please drop an email to adoptions@helpsaveone.org and ask for the address to mail the supplies to.

These pups and momma dog are located in NC.

This is the email we received from the rescue we are taking her from:

“I received a call yesterday evening, 010210, from a man that had taken his neighbor's dog and her puppies. He said that he noticed that she was pregnant about two weeks ago. He finally was able to get Animal Control to come out on his neighbors a couple of months ago since the dog had been tied up at the tree without any coverage, she was exposed to rain, etc. Animal control had them to put in a dog house for her then that was the end. He, the man that contacted me, put in pine straw for her when he found out that she was pregnant and been keeping an eye on her. He is out of a job and could not afford to take the dog and care for her himself. The first picture was taken from his back yard showing her dog house.

The man that called me had checked on her yesterday and found this situation.

He thinks the dog had her pups on New Years day since the day before was the last time he had checked on her. He found over half of the pups dead, frozen to death. He took the dog and put her on his enclosed back porch and then started calling for help. We were his last hope since one organization told him to walk away!

I visit and took these pics and took some can and dry food. Went back later and took a lot of more can and dry food, and a nicer place for her to stay in on the porch, and made sure that he would hold her and the pups until we could find a rescue group to take them. He understood that they can not be move right now and he is okay with this as long as we provide the food for her. It was a situation hat he said he could not turn his back on and will work with us. I feel he will do what is right to help.

The mom is a very skinny, husky mix with one blue and one brown eye. Very sweet and scared. By looking at her teeth, she appears to be around a year old, and probably her first liter of pups.”

We got the email and immediately agreed to take in the mom and her remaining 5 puppies. She has no vetting, and neither do her puppies. We will need to arrange a special transport, for just her and the pups, so they do not have to endure a transport with other dogs. This momma has been stressed out enough already.

The transport alone will be rather expensive, since it will be just for this momma and pups. We will then need to vet the momma, and all the puppies.

Her story broke our hearts, and we are so glad that we’re able to help. If you can donate anything to this sad family, please donate through the urgent dog fund above, and note that it is for the Husky Family.

We also need supplies to give to the foster mom that will be taking in this family. If anyone has things to donate, such as towels and blankets, puppy food, milk replacer, newspaper, a whelping box, food dishes, etc, please drop us an email to adoptions@helpsaveone.org and we can give you the address to send the supplies to, and we will pass them along to the foster. Thank you!

Sadness: Last post of 2009

When we moved to my mom's in August, Callie was still just a tiny kitten. She was a stray, being fed by my mother and brother. She was scared and didn't trust people. She would only come up on the back deck for food when no one was out there.

But as soon as I saw her, I knew I wanted to keep her in my life. It took me a good 6 weeks of slowly coaxing her before I could as much as rub her little head. Then came the ear scratches and eventually she let me hold her. Then, when Kitty Boy (the siberian cat) showed up, Callie had a best friend. With Kitty Boy's help (and no, I did not name him that, but my brother did) Callie was coming out of her shell. I introduced her to MBB and they also became friends.

I had only moved the cats into my bedroom about 3 weeks ago. Things were going well. I would wake up and find the little furball curled up on my chest. She was going to the vet after the holidays for her spay and whatever else cats need. But, on Christmas eve, she disappeared. Both cats would come and go as they pleased--Callie had even figured out how to jump out my bedroom window! I was hoping she wouldn't show MBB the trick, cause you know MBB has been known to jump out of a window.

Sadly, after much searching and hoping, we found her body last night. Callie has left this world, crossing the bridge to a better place. There were no signs of trauma, and she hadn't even strayed from home...but we had quite a bit of land to cover...so it took a while to find her. I'm afraid someone poisoned this baby, or perhaps she died of natural causes. We just don't know. I do know she never left the property. She was still too afraid.

Regardless, we have buried another friend. I have never been a cat person...just because I've always had dogs. And now, this sweet little angel that changed my heart has taken a piece of it with her.

I know Koova and Doodle didn't like cats, but something tells me it's different over the Bridge. I hope they greeted her with open paws and slobbery kisses.

Kitty Boy is left by himself...and I hope to take him with me when we move in a few months. I just have to convince Jack, Jedi, and CoCo. Mya is already smitten with the kitten.

This has been the worst year that I can ever remember...and I just want it over. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to know and love Callie...and to have Koova and Doodle in my life for so many years. I still cry for my boys, and now I cry for Callie. But I will remember them with happiness and love...

If you don't think a dog or cat can change a life, you are wrong. I have been changed so much and in so many ways.... And I thank them.

Can woo all believe it? This is SNOW!! I've seen flakes, but no real white stuff!! So, Mommy took me outside to play! I had a great time and tried to eat as much of the crunchy wet stuff as possible!!!! Yummy!!!

Also, I had a birthday! That's right...I am 3 years old now! We didn't celebrate it yet...Mommy is still too sad. But she said we'll have a massive party after the holidays. It's ok...I got my present list all ready!!!

Note from Painter Pack Mom: I just wanted to say thank you to everyone for the thoughts and prayers. This whole year has been very difficult. Losing my dad, then Koova, and now Doodle. Plus, my back problems. It's almost been too much to take. However, I still have so much hope for the future. My son is graduating highschool in 2010...plus my other 4 furries have so much love. Now I even have 2 kitty cats! MBB gets along well with them...but Jack and Jedi not so much. CoCo hasn't decided how she feels yet. Anyway, thank you again. You all mean so much to me...you just don't know how much joy and comfort has been given through this blog.

Haroooooooooooo to everyone!!! MBB here...aka...GrandMa! Yes! It's true! My son Oreo (Maska) is the proud papa of 8 healthy and beewootiful puppies!!! I just found out the wonderful news today and wanted to share!

They are with a wonderful family! Very loved and well cared for! And I know that when the time comes, the pups will get the perfect homes!

I am sad that Koova is not here with me to share the joy. But he is looking down from the Bridge, smiling at all the red's in the pack. He would be very proud.

Hello everyfurrie!!! It's me, Mya Boo Boo with a long overdue update on our move! Where should I begin? Hmmmmm....I suppose most of woo all know that I spilled coke on the laptop and made it smoke and die! Mommy was furry understanding and did not get mad...hmmmmmm.....then, I snootered through her dresser drawer and ate her stash...a kit kat bar. I didn't know they made chocolate outta kats, but it had crunchy fillings!! Yummy!!!! Haroooooooo!!!

Next, I again snootered where the snooter doesn't belong...this time I found some nice squishy bath sponges that mommy had just bought! So, to help her out, I performed the Husky test on 'em. Sadly, they did not hold up under my teeth and claws. I just left them shredded on the floor as proof of my hard work! I hope she can purchase better quality next time!

Oh, and Mommy says this move has been furry stressful...which might explain why I've been compelled to leave TWO warm, brown, pressies on Mommy's bed! But that was a couple of weeks ago. I think my tummy has calmed down a bit.

I have managed 2 huge hurdles since we've been here. First, I have accepted the little brown Chi named Sammy. He is annoying at first, but he's fun to knock around! No, I have not really knocked him around....he's way too fast for me to catch him! But I won't give up!

Finally, and probably the most stunning news of all............This is a world announcement!!!

Please, make sure woo is sitting down and not holding any sharp objects!!!

Here goes.........I have made a kitty friend! There, I said it!!! The news is out! I have a friend who is a kat! He actually looks like a Sibe cause he is white with blue eyes! His name is Kitty-boy. Yeah, some name, huh. He belongs to my visiting uncle. Mommy said she would like to keep him...she calls him Riley. He is super nice and doesn't hiss much at all!!

So, there woo have it. The good, the bad, and the just plain weird.

Mommy has taken pictures, but she cannot locate the flashy beast at the moment to retrieve those pictures. I do promise some Chi and kat pictures!

Mommy is not furry happy in this living situation. But she is doing it to help the Nana. Our bedroom is EXTREMELY small. And hooman brother is sleeping on a blow up bed. But, we are all together.

We can't seem to get caught up on the blogs. So forgive us for not commenting. I hope every furry is doing great on this holiday weekend!!!

MBB here! I have missed everyfurrie so much!!! I am sorry we haven't gotten around to the blogs much, but Mommy promises me we will catch up!!!

Only 3 weeks into living at my granny's house and already my Mommy has "met" the neighbors! Well, I wouldn't exactly call yelling a civil hooman conversation!

Yes, my fellow furries! Mommy came to the aid of a doggie. We was outside, letting Jack, Doodle, Jedi, and even her evilness, CoCo, get some exercise. When all of a sudden the teenage boy next door picks up a stick and starts hitting his boxer type doggie on the back! I never seen Mommy so mad...'cept the time hooman brother washed his cellphone by accident! Mommy yelled at the kid "HEY! YOU DON'T BEAT A DOG! I CAN CALL YOUR MAMA OR THE POLICE, THE CHOICE IS YOURS!"

Well, this kid never even looked up at Mommy! He just threw the stick down and walked inside. Mommy doesn't say those HBO words, especially to kids. But she wanted to say 'em!! Haroooo Mommy!!!

We waited for the kid's mom to come out, but she didn't. So we're not sure what, if anything, the kid said to his parent(s). Now, Mommy and I are watching out the window, just making sure they don't start nuffin!

If there is any trouble, Mommy is armed with her digital camera and cell phone! She'll wipe the sidewalk with 'em!! Or at least take pictures and dial 911!

First I want to thank everyone for their kind words and prayers during this sad time. Whenever I could sneak to a wi-fi place and get online, it did my heart good to see that others seemed to go out of their way to show love and condolences. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

Well, the move is finally over and I'm just now back online. It has been the most horrible couple of weeks...Losing Koova has really hurt us all. It still seems unreal. When I am able, I will go into a bit more detail about the death of my wonderful baby, Koova. I am trying not to be angry or blame myself...but both are hard.

MBB is doing well. She and Jedi have been sharing a bedroom with me and my son. And it's a SMALL room! I think my bathroom was bigger than this! But it's OK. We're here with my mom, helping her out and things will calm down soon.

Right now the other furries, Jack, Doodle and CoCo are in their crates. We'll have to take turns letting them out and making sure they get plenty of exercise. Our first concern right now is that Jack seems to be getting a bit sick. He has a place under his neck that looks like he's scratched it and he'll be going to the vet soon.

I think I ruined my knee during all this havoc...it's been swelled up like a large cantaloupe for 2 weeks. Getting old sucks!!!

I don't think I would have survived this move if it weren't for my wonderful (and strong) son and my brother. Thanks to them both!

We are too heartbroken to write much at this time. Koova apparently choked to death in his crate while we were moving. When we found him, it was too late. Our lives have been shaken to the core with his loss and I'm not sure when/if we will find the strength to write more.

Please just pray for us during this horrible time.

Moving "Announcement"

Quick note from the Mom:

Hello everyone! First I want to send my condolences out to Charlie's family. We did not really know Charlie, but it is obvious that he was loved and will be sorely missed.

The Painter Pack is in full mode now...we're moving this coming weekend. So, please do not be alarmed if we disappear for a few days/weeks. Although, I doubt it will be much more than a few days. The problem is that we have not been able to find a place to move to...yep, that's a problem.

Back in March of this year, my dad passed away suddenly. My mom has been having a horrible time since then, financially. I'm by no means rich and being on short term disability from work has cut my income, but I love my mom and did what any child would do. I helped her out. So now, I find myself short.

So, the perfect solution is that the pack is moving into grandma's house! Yes....and considering she has 4 doggy babies herself, well...you get the picture! It won't be forever, but for a few months. My mom has got to build up some savings and get some things paid off so that she will not struggle.

The only bad thing is that most everyone will have to stay in their crates for longer periods. Except Mya, who will still be with me in my bedroom. But my room is SMALL...and my son doesn't even have a bedroom...he'll be sleeping on an air mattress. Of course, during the daytime, as weather allows, we will take the dogs outside on their leashes and let them run us. But it still won't be an ideal situation.

Please do not think bad of me for putting them in this situation. I love them with all my heart, but my mom's dogs are small--2 chi's, 1 weiner dog, and 1 outside lab type dog. I cannot allow my big ol' babies to rip an ear or tail off of one of the small doggies. I don't think they would do it on purpose...well, maybe they would...but you see my point.

Anyway, that is my post. I hope that you all can support me during this transition. It's not perfect...but it's the only solution we could come up with.

The good thing is that you'll get to meet the other doggies! Sammy, Sydney, and Chester! The boy outside is Buddy.

I love this blogging world and everyone I have met throughout this past year. You've taught me so much more about how to love my babies. And I thank you all for that.

A Sibe in need

Meet Shana, a sweet 2 yr.old little girl that came into South Florida Siberian Husky Rescue after being found wandering the streets of Hialeah. In her short life she became this adorable little girl who only wanted to be loved. She is being fostered by a family that fell in love with her gentle spirit and capacity for giving back to people and other dogs. Today we found out Shana has ITP which is an Auto Immune Disease which can cause her to bleed internally by the slightest bump or turn of her head. Her foster family brought her to the vet when they noted her lethargy and the alarming color of her urine..

This disease causes the body to attack the platelets, thus causing a lack of clotting. Today she received her first transfusion from one of her husky friends, and in three days we will know how much that has helped; however, she may need more.

Her treatment is quite costly, and when they get the bleeding under control, she will need to be on steroids in order to keep this problem from recurring. She will require constant monitoring and possibly occasional transfusions to enable this girl to live a full and happy life.

We want to give Shana the chance she deserves to live that full life, but our funds our low and find that we must turn to you, our friends to help keep Shana alive. We ask with heavy hearts that you help us find a way to help Shana fulfill her desire to give love to a special family when shes well.

Monday Memories!!!

Greetings bloggie world!! Coco Bean here!! Yes, that's right!!! I locked MBB in the crate and I get to do a Monday Memories post!! I am so excited because I know my adoring public is thirsty for more of my beewootiful self! It's just difficult to get that HUGE fuzzy butt of MBB's out of the way!!! Have you noticed how fat she's gotten? Woof!! Woof!!! I love it!!! I'm going to call her hippo thighs!!! Maybe thunder butt!!! Or, how about tubby!!! Oh, the options are endless!! Anyway, back to this week's post!! I am proud to present................................ME!

Well, me and Maxie Doodle! Here we are as little puppers!!! About 8 weeks old in this one. You can't see it, but I had chewed his tail down to the skin! Yes, I was a pesky sister. I still am! Oh, get over it...his tail hair grew back!!! Eventually.........

Here is Doodle, still a little 'un! Awww.....Too bad for him, I got all the looks and brains. But he is sweet at times....when he's asleep!

Here is hooman brother (middle) and two of his buddies. Brother was about 12 here...or so. And his friends came over to oooh and ahhh over me. Oh, and Doodle too I guess. Don't I just look adorable??

As you can see, this one is dated...Four whole years ago!! Here is Jack before he got all fat and old. And there I am...just a bundle of fur!!! Oh, I am so cute!!!

We were so tiny when mommy brought us home that she could hold us both in ONE HAND!!! Plus, Jack tried to KILL us. I wonder if he thought we were cats?? Jack doesn't like cats. It took about 3 weeks, but he finally got over it all. He fell in love with me!!! Even the age difference couldn't stop love. Even now, Jack does whatever I want. He'd better.

Finally, here we are, grown up. Ever since my puppy accident, Doodle thinks he can beat me up. But, I can still hold my own....and if I ever get the chance, I'll chew the hair off his tail again!!! Cause that's what sister's do!!!! Thank you all for adoring me...and my puppy pictures!! Mommy has promised me my OWN bloggie!!! But she's soooooooooo slow!!! I hope to talk to you a LOT more really soon!!! If I can move Bessie the COW outta the way!!!

Monday Memories!

Happy Monday to all the pups and kats! MBB here with a NEW Monday theme for the Painter Pack!

Mommy went through some boxes of "memories" stuff and found some really old photos. Some of furries past and present...and some of something she calls "bad 80's hair"!

So, for a while, we at the Painter Pack will use Monday to share our bestest memories!

This first picture is of mommy and hooman brother. Nick was just a little pupper! Mommy says about 3 years old. Hard to believe he's a week away from being 17 now! I would have loved to run and play with him!! Haroooooo!!!!

Mommy says this one is REAL old! And this is some of the 80's hair! The furry is the photo is Jasmine Bleu. She was a peek-a-nese! She was 6 years old when she hurt her back and had to go to the bridge. Koova is sorta named after her...the "bleu" part. Mommy says Jazzie (as she was called) used to run zoomies like crazy!
This one is even OLDER! Oh my dog! Mommy was about hooman brother's age! The puppers are Rusty and Heather...brother and sister cocker spaniels. Rusty got sick and went to the bridge before he was a year old. Heather was with Mommy for several years until someone stole her out of the yard. Mommy searched but never found little miss Heather. Mommy sure missed her.
Here's another photo of Jazzie and Mommy. Sorry for the bad photo quality...Mommy said it's not only bad 80's hair, but bad 80's camera too!
That's it for our FIRST MONDAY MEMORIES!! Next week, Mommy has photos of the terror twins, Doodle and CoCo when they were tiny puppers. I may barf if I have to see pictures of that hussy, CoCo. Woof!!!

Harooo pups and kats!!

MBB here with a special announcement!!

Mommy got an email about a breeder/hoarder/stupid person in Orangeburg, SC. Apparently the "authorities" took away dozens and dozens of Huskies!! Adults and puppers!

Some furry good Husky friends is the folks at HuskiesRus...also in SC. They have already taken in several Huskies and may get even more.

They always have the new arrivals vetted and such..which can be expensive I'm sure. But they love us Huskies!!! Haroooo rooooo!!! What's not to love!!!

On our home front, Mommy has to announce that she switched from Internet Explorer to Foxfire....now I don't know what all this means, but Mommy says she can now view all of her favotire bloggies without errors. So that is good!

We furries are doing good...lounging inside out of the heat.

Remember, the 4th is coming up and that means a lot of loud popping boomers going off. Many furries get scared and will run away. So be on the lookout!

Mommy found the older pictures of Koova and just wanted to share. The photo quality isn't good, but he's still handsome!!! He was about 4 or 5 months old here....and already a heartbreaker!!!!! I am such a lucky canine!!!

The 'puter doesn't seem to like blogger lately. Mommy thinks she may have to strip the 'puter and reload stuff. I don't know about woo, but a naked 'puter scares me!!! Harooooooo!!!!

Mommy will try to catch up on all the blogs this weekend. But first she is doing something to the grass to get rid of the pesky ticks....then she said something about "baths"....I just don't know...it doesn't sound good for us furries.

We hopes every furrie one has a GREAT weekend!!! And golden thoughts for Laska's safe and speedy return!!! Come on home, boy!

Lord, you have embraced a good friend and loving companion. While we mourn what we have lost, we do celebrate what we had...and in saying goodbye, we renew our pledge to love and care for any creature you entrust to us for its time of life.

Thank you, Lord, for the joy Dakota gave us all and for making it possible for us to have made this friend. Lord, be with the family as they continue to grieve.
