This is Samarai Jackson (Jack)

I wanted to take a moment to introduce each of my babies. This is Jack, our first doggie. He will be 6 years old in November. He is THE BEST!!! This baby has seen me and my son through so much and he's never short on loving.

My step dad knew that we were looking for a dog, and he heard about this man who was taking his pup to the pound. So we went to his house, just to look. Jack was 6 months old, tied outside with no shelter. Of course my son, who is never shy around a dog, went running up to him. As soon as Jack was untied, he ran and literally jumped into my car. I don't think we could have gotten him out even if we'd wanted to! From this moment on, Jack has been my son's best friend.

He is part black lab and part golden retriever....at least that's what the vet said. He's black but with golden highlights! His eyes are black and full of love.

Jack weighs about 80 or 90 pounds but thinks he's a lap dog! He loves to curl up next to my butt in bed or on the couch...and he LOVES riding in the car!

Jack is pretty much the pack leader unless you put him up against CoCo...I'll introduce her soon, but they are in love. Always have been. And she has him wrapped around her little paw.

But, Jack is also our watch dog. He alerts us to people knocking on the door or someone in the yard. Once, during a flooding around my house (we didn't get flooded but we were also stranded) Jack stopped 2 men from coming onto our deck. I have no doubt if needed, Jack would bite. But he's also so gentle natured. He's mellowed a lot and knows a dog person when he smells one. He welcomes houseguests and visitors.

So, this is my Samarai Jackson--his "official" name. He is my baby....my friend...and he will be with us until the end.
