Dingo has a new home!

Painter Pack Mom here! I wanted to tell the tale of Dingo, the beautiful Husky we found out in the rain about 2 weeks ago! After putting up flyers, ads in the paper, craigslist and every Vet in the area, no one claimed this handsome boy. So last weekend I started the task of finding him a new home! I wanted to keep him of course, but it was just not physically possible. I took applications via email and phone! I finally found, what I think, was a good home. He was supposed to go to this home on the 22nd. But there was a family emergency in the new home and it didn't happen. Then, on the 23rd, Dingo was outside doing his business, and somehow got out of his collar and disappeared.
My son and I were out until midnight driving around in the dark and rain. On the 24th we did the same thing....and on Christmas. Today after work, I was going to visit the pound and put out flyers since the rain had stopped.
Funny how things happen. A friend at work went thru a drive thru for breakfast and they gave her a FREE newspaper. She in turn, gave it to me. I picked up the paper to scan the doggie ads...and what did I find?? A FOUND husky in my area.
So I called. And it was Dingo! The people were sooooooooo nice. Great dog people. And I was all ready to pick him up after work....then I realized something. I think Dingo had already found his furever home. I talked to them at length and will go visit tomorrow. But Dingo is very loved and happy. He's sleeping in their bed, has 2 other dogs to play with and even stole the family ham on Christmas!! And yet they love him and cried on the phone when I told them that I think he should stay.
For those who do not believe in a dog's will to live or live happy, just remember...Dingo went from my house, through a large section of woods, straight to his new home. Walked right into their kitchen, sat down, wagged his tail as if to say "I'm home".
It was love all the way around.
